Ignou B.Ed Admission 2019 – The Indira Gandhi National Open University will soon invite applications from the candidates all over the country for admission to its Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) programme for January 2019 session.
Unlike the other disciplines, the university offers admission in Ignou B.Ed programme once in a year i.e. during the January session.The Bachelor of Education programme offered by Ignou comes under the School of Education (SOE) and has been recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Objective
The main objective of the programme is to develop and strengthen the professional competency of in-service teachers. Also it helps the learner in understanding the nature of the learner and of learning processes.They will be able to develop the skills involved in dealing with the academic and personal problems of learners.
Moreover, it will help the learners in acquiring knowledge and develop understanding about the various procedures and techniques of evaluation and their classroom application.
Ignou B.Ed Admission Procedure 2019
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is one of the biggest Open Distance Learning universities in the world. The university offers admission to its Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) programme in the January session.
There are 50 seats in each Programme Study Centre (PSC) which is assigned to students for admission. To provide admission to the learners from all over the country, the university follows very simple procedure for admission to B.Ed programme.

After the declaration of entrance result, the admission process is completed at the Regional Centre on the basis of merit obtained by candidates in the entrance test. The candidates who qualify the entrance test will be sent offer letter for admission via post along with the scores obtained by them in the test.
The candidates have to submit the filled-in admission application form along with prescribed fee and required documents to their regional centre. It should be noted that final admission will be confirmed only after verification of documents, merit obtained by the candidate in the Entrance Test, production of proof of their eligibility and submission of complete prescribed fee.
The Ignou B.Ed admission procedure is little different from other universities but not difficult. So, we advise all the applicants to obtain the prospectus and read it carefully before applying for admission.

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Test
The admission to B.Ed programme is provided purely on the basis of merit score obtained by candidates in the entrance test conducted by the university all over India. To apply for admission and entrance test, the candidates need to fill up the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Form and submit the filled-in application form along with attested copies of required documents (mentioned in Entrance-cum-Admission Form) to their nearby IGNOU Regional Centres.
The candidates should not submit their original documents at this stage as they will be asked to submit their original documents later after receiving offer letter for admission. It is advised to all the applicants that they should carefully read the instructions while filling up their Entrance cum Admission form because in case of wrong information filled in the form, the students will not be provided the admission.
Also, the candidates will not be allowed to change their category code after the submission of application form.
The entrance examination is the main part of admission procedure. It is usually conducted in the month of August every year but it may vary as per the advertisement published by the university. Every Year, for admission to Ignou B.Ed programme and conduction of Entrance test, the distance learning university publishes the advertisement in the local daily newspapers and also on the official website in the months of June-July.
The students can check out the advertisement and download the prospectus in both English and Hindi language from the university official website at www.ignou.ac.in.
The B.Ed entrance cum admission form is also included in the prospectus which can be extracted by an applicant. To know about the last date to submit the filled-in application form for entrance test to the nearby Regional Centre, please check the latest advertisement published by the university.
It is to be noted that the application form sent to any other department of the university will not be entertained.
How to apply for IGNOU B.Ed. Entrance Test?
The candidates can download the Ignou B.Ed prospectus and application form from university official website i.e. www.ignou.ac.in.
After filling up the application form, the candidates may send it along with entrance examination fee of Rs. 1050/- in the form of demand draft to the Regional Centre of the concerned city via Registered/Speed post or they can submit the form at their nearest regional centre by hand.
The Demand Draft has to be made in favor of IGNOU, payable at the city of the Regional Centre concerned.
IGNOU B.Ed Fee Structure
The candidates need to pay the total fee of Rs. 50,000/- for the complete programme during the admission process. The applicants are advised not to pay the programme fee along with the submission of filled-in application form. After qualifying the entrance examination, they will be informed about their admission process and payment of fee.
They need to pay the fee in the form of Demand Draft(DD) drawn in favour of IGNOU payable at the city where your Regional Centre is located. (Note: The candidates should write their Name and Programme in capital letters on the back of the Demand Draft to make sure that fee should properly credit to the relevant account.)

Programme Duration
The university provides the minimum duration of two years to the students to clear all the B.Ed courses during the study. But the university allows the students to clear the programme within a maximum duration of five years.
IGNOU B.Ed Eligibility Criteria
- The candidates seeking admission to this discipline should be having at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other equivalent qualification And
The learners who comes under the below mentioned categories are eligible for admission to IGNOU B.Ed. (ODL):- Trained in-service teachers in elementary education OR
- The learners who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode.
- The university follows the guidelines of reservation and relaxation in the marks as per the Central Government/State Government guidelines, which ever is applicable, for SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/PWD and other categories.
- The university provides the relaxation of five percent marks in favour of SC/ST/Kashmiri Migrant and other categories of candidates, if any, as per Govt. of India Rules.
Note: It is to be noted that the students awarded the Masters’ Degree without a first degree are not eligible for admission to this programme.

IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Hall Ticket
The university send the IGNOU B.Ed Entrance admit card to the applicants at their communication address via post as well. In case, if any candidate do not receive his or her hall ticket by post, he or she can download it from the website at www.ignou.ac.in to appear in the entrance examination.The applicants will able to download the Hall ticket/ admit card from the university website ten days before the date of examination.
IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Result
As per the guidelines, the university declares the B.Ed Entrance Test result usually after one and half month from the date of examination. So, it will be the case for this year also for declaration of result.
The university may take less or more time for result declaration.The candidates will be able to check their result on the university website whenever it will be declared.
IGNOU B.Ed Assignments
During the studies, the students need to submit the IGNOU B.Ed Solved Assignments for each theory course.The assignment question papers can be downloaded from the university official website.
The assignments constitutes 30% of total marks for any particular course. The students need to submit the solved assignments at their respective Study Centre as per the submission schedule provided in the assignment booklet.
